Intentionally Positioned
Christian singles are not people "in waiting"—they are purposed.
The name of the conference, Single Purposed, comes from the
idea of being intentionally positioned—purposed with intention and posed
by God's design.
At its root, to be purposed means to be intentionally designed with a
settled resolve toward a specific aim or end. We believe our chief aim
is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever
(WSC, Question 1). That
end does not shift with our relationship status. In Christ, our identity
is not anchored in marital status.
When we view singleness as a state to overcome or a lesser chapter in
our story, we easily disregard God's intentional design in our unique
position. Singleness, whether for a season or a lifetime, is not a
secondary calling. It is an abundant life—rich with devotion, growth,
mission, community, and joy—with the same ultimate purpose shared by all
believers. It is a life to be celebrated.
Whether single or married, we are purposed the same—created on purpose,
for a purpose, and invited into a life that is complete in Him.
